Registration starts for overseas absentee voters at Consulate
OCT. 1—The registration period for overseas absentee voting for the May 2007 Philippine national elections will begin it was announced by the Philippine Consulate General in New York. All citizens of the Philippines abroad, who are qualified to vote under the law and at least 18 years of age on the day of the election, must file applications for registration/certification as overseas absentee voters between Oct. 1, 2005 and Aug. 31, 2006. The actual voting period for senators and party-list representatives will be from April 14, 2007 to May 14, 2007. Application forms are available at the Philippine Consulate General in New York.
