Filipino doc receives Jack Sipp award
The 18th Annual Jack Sipp Golf and Tennis
Outing to benefit St. Vincent’s Hospital Staten
Island was held on May 9, 2005 at the Richmond County
Country Club.
This year’s recipient of the Jack
Sipp Distinguished Service Award was Nicolas C. Lansigan,
Jr., M.D., in recognition of his distinguished service
to the Staten Island community and St. Vincent’s
Hospital as a skilled and highly respected general surgeon.
It is for his dedication to the medical profession, his
patients, and to the hospital that he was honored at this
year’s golf and tennis outing.
Dr. Lansigan is a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons. He is an active member of many medical
organizations including the American Medical Association,
New York State Medical Society and the Richmond County
Medical Society.
He was past president of the Philippine
Medical Association in America and outgoing president
of the University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Society
in America, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut Chapter.
This popular event is a major fund-raising
effort in support of the programs at St. Vincent’s
Hospital Staten Island.
As a tribute to Dr. Lansigan, the huge
proceeds from this 2005 Golf and Tennis Outing will benefit
the Perioperative Services at St. Vincent’s.
More than 150 golfers and tennis players enjoyed the beautiful
spring day.
Dr. Lansigan was presented a plaque during
the cocktails and dinner at the Clubhouse.
The plaque read “The John Sipp Distinguished
Service Award is presented to Nicolas C. Lansigan, Jr.,
M.D. in recognition of his leadership, dedication and
service which has benefited the quality of life in Staten
Island.”
