Save a life, learn CPR for two hours, free

APRIL 8 to 16—A series of free CPR training and classes during the American Heart Association Week will be held at 22 participating locations throughout New York City from April 8 to 16, CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is basic lifesaving skill that could help save the life of your family member, friend, co-worker or bystander. Call 1-877-AHA-4CPR (1-877-242-4277) to reserve your spot or spaces for your family, company or school team. Participants will get a course completion certificate.

Masses at Pastoral Center for Pope John Paul II

APRIL 10 and 17—The Philippine Pastoral Center will hold two memorial masses for Pope John Paul II in grateful remembrance of his two papal visits to the Philippines (in 1981 for the beatification of then Blessed Lorenzo Ruiz, and in 1995 for the World Youth Day).  Both Sunday masses will be held at 2 p.m. at the Philippine Pastoral Center, 248 E. 62nd St., NYC.  Celebrant is Fr. Healing mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, S.I.

APRIL 14—The Blessed Sacrament Prayer Group will host a healing mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church at 30 Manor Rd., cor. Forest Ave., Staten Island, N.Y. Celebrant is Fr. Tom Devry, pastor of Holy Child Church of Staten Island and veteran of Catholic charismatic renewal. NYC concert honoring St. Catherine of Sienna

APRIL 30—A concert in honor of St. Catherine of Siena will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 411 East 68th St. in Manhattan starting at 6:15 p.m. Performers are organist Alice Nadine Rosselet, sopranos Loretta Di Franco and Michelle Pretto, with Fr. David Adletta, O.P., reader. Program includes selections of classical music, reflection on the life and work of St. Catherine with musical interpretation, and sing-along medleys of songs. Deadline for Miss Asia North East America tilt

APRIL 30—All applications for Miss Asia North East America Pageant must be mailed on or before this date. The pageant will be held on June 4 at the Victoria Theater, NJPAC, Newark, N.J.
